The Newspaper is a polish indie, post punk band. They formed in the 2010 in December in Opole. The idea for the music comes out from Kamil Kawalec and Kamil Jaworski and after a couple of months thet found a drummer Daniel Pławszewski and after that a bass player Przemek Rząsa, which matched them perfectly and filled the empty sort in the band. In 2011 they recorded EP called "Step by Step" with 2 song and getting prepare for the bigger shit. The 'papers are inspired mainly by the 80's music, but you can also hear some indie rock, alternative and for sure post punk sounds. They define themselves as a second wave, but they don't want to be closed in only one genre, they still experiment.

Zespół powstał w grudniu 2010 roku na terenie cementem i Odrą płynącego Opola. Pomysł na projekt zrodził się w głowie Kamila - Kawalca i Jaworskiego i szybko zaczęli szukac muzyków, którzy swoją pracą rozwineliby raczkujący zespół, byli nimi Daniel Pławszewszki oraz Przemek Rząsa, którzy idealnie wypełnili szarą twórczą lukę. The Newspaper ma na swoim koncie wczesne nagrania ze Studenckiego Radia Emiter w Opolu, oraz składające się z 2 utworów EP "Step by Step" nagrane w 2011r. w Soundarts Studio. W ciągu zaledwie roku zagrał wiele koncertów między innymi brał udział w konkursie Młode Opole. Gazeciarze inspiracje czerpią z cold wave i post punku lat 80 oraz wielu innych zespołów jak i konwencji.Sami określają się mianem odrodzenia nowej fali . Nie chcąc jednak zamknąć się w jednym gatunku wciąż eksperymentują.
